Jiu-Jitsu and Overcoming: Athletes from the NGO Irmã Geni shine at the Super Pro BJJ Championship

On April 13, the gymnasium of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) was the stage for a true spectacle of technique, determination and resilience with the Super Pro BJJ Championship. The NGO Irmã Geni, which works in the sports and citizenship education of children and adolescents, was present with a delegation of 13 athletes, who put on a real show on the mats. The result could not have been more inspiring: 12 athletes won medals, totaling four gold, five silver and three bronze. Each fight was proof of how much sport can transform lives and open paths to a promising future. The athletes, many of them in their first major competition, faced experienced opponents, overcame their nerves and surpassed their own limits. The medals came as recognition for months of intense training, discipline and commitment.

Participation Highlights 4 gold medals: won by athletes who dominated their categories with technique and confidence. 5 silver medals: matches fought point by point, with athletes who demonstrated resilience until the last second. 3 bronze medals: the result of the persistence of those who fought with courage and did not give up, even when faced with strong opponents. In addition to the achievements on the podium, the championship was a valuable opportunity for exchange, learning and strengthening of ties between the young people of the NGO and the Jiu-Jitsu community of Paraíba.

A Project That Goes Beyond the Mat The participation of the NGO Irmã Geni in the event goes far beyond the sports competition. The project believes in sports as a tool for social transformation, promoting values such as respect, discipline, teamwork and self-confidence. With the support of teachers, volunteers and partners, the NGO has been transforming the reality of dozens of young people, offering real opportunities for personal and professional growth. Gratitude and Continuity The NGO thanks everyone involved — family members, supporters, sponsors and, especially, the athletes, who are the reason for all the effort. This achievement is collective and represents the strength of the community when it comes together for a greater purpose. We remain steadfast in our mission. May this be just the beginning of many victories — on and off the mats!
